Important signs & symptoms of emptiness:

Feeling Unfulfilled

One of the primary signs of emptiness is feeling unfulfilled in many areas of your life. This can manifest in several ways:

• Feeling like something is missing in your life

• Lack of purpose or direction

• Feeling disconnected from your passions or interests

• Sense of boredom within areas of your life

Restlessness and Discontentment

Next up, restlessness & discontentment. This often slowly creeps into our lives and could go unnoticed for some time, it also could manifest as:

• Feeling agitated or irritable often

• Difficulty relaxing or calming down - especially at night

• An overwhelming feeling like you are "stuck"

• Sense of frustration or discontentment with your life or your circumstances

Disconnection and Isolation

This next one is often brought to our attention by our loved ones. Disconnection and isolation. This can show up as:

• Feeling disconnected from others, even in social situations

• Lack of meaningful relationships or friendships. Often on a spiritual quest our old social circles fall away. This is an aspect that is needed to align with our highest self but can take time to come to terms with. (More on this to come!)

• A nagging feeling like you are "going through the motions" without any sense of purpose or connection

• Sense of loneliness or isolation, even in crowded or busy environments

Physical Symptoms

Emptiness can also manifest physically:

• You may notice yourself feeling Fatigued or low energy

• Insomnia or difficulty sleeping. Often at night when we are trying to quiet our brains is when the thoughts come racing

Emotional Symptoms

Emotional symptoms of emptiness can include:

• Feeling numb or disconnected from your emotions. This is a common trait for anyone who has experienced trauma in any form. The body may have entered a freeze mode.

• The lack of motivation or inspiration in your daily life. Sometimes we get so caught up in our daily tasks it becomes mundane causing us to disconnect from being present and thus landing us uninspired or unmotivated.

• Feeling stuck or stagnant in one's life or relationships. The world has become focused on the ‘highlight reels”, loosing focus of real life expectations in our relationships. This can be a leading factor of feeling stagnant inside relationships (both romantic & non)

• Sense of hopelessness or despair. AKA the rabbit hole. The feeling of hopelessness can creep in and begin to take over in all areas of our lives, the sooner you can take notice the quicker you can implement tools to help create a solution for this.

Spiritual Symptoms

Spiritual symptoms of emptiness can include ( and are not limited to) :

• Feeling a disconnect from your spiritual practice or faith

• The lack of purpose or meaning in your life/ world around you

• Feeling like you are "just going through the motions" without any sense of connection or fulfillment to your journey

• Sense of disconnection from nature, the universe, or a higher power

By recognizing these signs and symptoms you can begin to address the underlying causes and start cultivating a more soul healing, fulfilling and meaningful life in align with your desires.
